Androgenetic Alopecia is a condition where genes and environment are thought to be factors that lead to a pattern of hair loss experienced by many women.
Studies have shown that women experience their hair thinning all over the head but only in rare instances will there be total hair loss. Changes that occur with the levels of androgens can possibly affect the growth of the hair. An example would be the hormonal changes that are experienced during and after menopause. Other hormone related conditions which have a symptom of hair loss are thyroid conditions.
